The air flow meter continuously measures the air flow drawn in by the engine. The car's computer can therefore constantly adapt the fuel injection parameters.
Proper operation of the air flow meter allows the air/fuel mixture to be optimized, ensuring constant performance in all circumstances and minimal consumption.

Air Flow Meter Location
The mass air flow sensor is located between the throttle body and the air filter. Its installation is fairly simple and does not require any special knowledge of automotive mechanics.
Causes of a flow meter out of service
Airborne impurities often accumulate on the sensitive part of the sensor and disrupt its operation. This causes your vehicle's computer to receive incorrect information.
Symptoms of a faulty flow meter
- Unstable idle
- Increased fuel consumption
- Loss of power observed
- Jolts
- Smoke released (in some cases)
